Fundraiser for Katie Parsons and her Family As most of you know Amber is in 4-H. Her group is raising money for a young girl who is also in 4-H. Thank you for your help with this family. A farming accident that resulted in serious injuries to a Montgomery County 4-H member. She got her hair caught in an auger and it ripped off her scalp and she lost a couple of fingers. She is doing great, and in fact is back in the county and traveling to local hospitals for many of her treatments, with occasional trips to Chapel Hill for more intensive treatments. While the prognosis is good, the family anticipates many months, maybe even years, of therapy and medical procedures as a result of the accident. The Montgomery County 4-H program is putting together a fundraiser to support the family. On March 27, they will be holding a plate sale and silent auction fundraiser. They’ve asked for support from anyone in the “4-H volunteer family” that might be able to donate items for the auction. Many 4-H offices are raising money to help out this family. The family is extremely grateful for all of the support received thus far. They indicate that they believe in the power of prayer, and they feel your support. Funds are, of course, becoming an issue. As a farming family, and having to spend so many weeks away, things are adding up quickly. But, they are optimistic and grateful. Please consider making a contribution for this fundraiser as we support this family and help Katie Parsons get back to her life and her 4-H project.
