(WENN) - Country icon Dolly Parton is eager to land a job on TV talent show The Voice.

The singer has turned down a string of offers to be a judge on American Idol and The X Factor, but admits she would jump at the chance to coach acts on the rival series.

Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton currently serve as mentors on the show, in which contestants are selected based on their vocal talents and not their looks.

Parton tells Britain's Daily Star Sunday, "I've been asked to do American Idol and X Factor almost every time they do a new series but turned them down."

"But I could imagine myself doing The Voice. It's a wonderful show because you don't have to judge that much and I hesitate to judge people. Being successful means I can pick and choose the projects I like."
