Jerry Nelson the man who voiced The Count on "Sesame Street" . . . died last Thursday.  He was 78.

He also created Mr. Snuffleupagus and Grover's customer Mr. Johnson . . . and played Gobo Fraggle on "Fraggle Rock".

He also played several "Muppet Show" characters, including Sgt. Floyd Pepper of the Electric Mayhem and Kermit the Frog's nephew Robin.

Jerry began working with "Muppets" creator Jim Henson in 1965.  He started performing full-time on "Sesame Street" in the '70s.  In 2004, he retired from operating the characters.  However, he continued to voice the Count until his death.
